This mod increase the duration and cooldown of the following Destroyer skills to 5 minutes:
- Frost Shield
- Spectral Echo
- Entropic Aura
- Aura of Thorns
- Shadow Armor (only duration, ability has no cooldown)
- Shadow Bowman (only duration, ability has no cooldown)

Additionally it increase the cooldown and duration of all ranks of Elemental Protection spell to 5 minutes.

After playing alchemist where skills like that had long durations, I was annoyed that on destroyer I have to cast those every 20 seconds or so. If skill has same duration and cooldown, why not make it longer?
With this mod you can focus on using your cool offensive abilities and killing things, instead of tedious reapplying your buffs all the time.

The skills has not been changed in any other way than increasing their duration and cooldown.

To install unzip the file into your %appdata%\runic games\torchlight\mods\ folder.

You can find this by following the C:\Program Files\runic games\torchlight\Application Data link.

It should look like %appdata%\runic games\torchlight\mods\DestroyerSkillsDuration after you copy it.

this mod has issues, though i fixed them for my personal use.

1 - shadow bowman and shadow armor are not set to 5 minutes. they are set to 230 seconds instead of 300 in the files so if you use the timers on frost shield and the resist spell you always end up with the last minute without the buff up.

you cant tell if you dont look at your character sheet because the graphics guy is buggy and just stays up there even when the buff is gone. in the affix files its set at 2307 when it should be at 3000 for 5 minutes. 2307 = 230.7 seconds. 3000 = 300 seconds. you have to change it for every single rank of the spell in the affix files.


2 - spectral echo by default can be stacked up 2-3 times because the duration is 3x longer than the reset and from what ive read in posts it actually does stack. having the reset time = the duration just screws you over. the reset and duration on this one are a bit iffy because of the stacking thing, you could set it to 100 second reset and 300 second duration, but then it takes over 3 minutes to get 3 stacks up.

i dont think this skill should even be included. it works properly by default because you need to be able to stack it up in a reasonable amount of time. spectral echo is an auto attack build anyways, so keeping this skill stacked up is still fairly easy at the default times.


3 - the reset times equal the durations which sucks big time. i mean you are about to walk into your next big fight and you look down and you have 10-15 seconds left on buffs. you cannot rebuff until they are down and you are getting mauled. extremly bad design.

i reworked mine so they reset in 4 minutes and 30 seconds with 5 minute durations. that gives me a 30 second window to rebuff myself so i dont get caught with my buffs down in the middle of some huge brawl and get insta-killed.


4 - if you use the lvl999 mod with this that extends skills to level 20, this mod does not support it at all. you have to do a lot of work in the text files extending the skills to 20 with extended durations on them.



its a great idea, but you need to address these issues.


p.s. you should think about adding something for Haste. having to mash it every 27 seconds is just as annoying as mashing frost shield every 20 seconds.
